About Us

The South Chamber's programs are directed by the combined efforts of volunteers and professional staff working to build a better economy and provide business opportunities for its members. This Chamber is an advocate for the Southern Sector of Bexar County and concentrates its efforts in the following areas:

Accessibility to higher education
Sustainable economic development
Diversity in housing

By focusing on education in the South San Antonio community we are focusing on the future of our youth. One of the ways that we are addressing higher education is by identifying and supporting existing education initiatives that encourage young people to study math and science. Technology is advancing at a rapid pace and by having a strong foundation in math and science these young people will be ready to excel in their educational endeavors.

In order for the Southern Sector to prosper, we must have positive economic change. The South San Antonio Chamber of Commerce works with new developments and projects located within the Southern Sector to maximize their visibility while enhancing a positive image of the Southside.

Housing is another issue that the South San Antonio Chamber of Commerce focuses on. Many existing neighborhoods on the Southside are older neighborhoods that need renovation and revitalization. We strive to identify and coordinate neighborhood revitalization projects that preserve, protect and promote the Southern Sector.
